Modeling & Valuation Workshop hosted by Agentis Capital

On February 6, the High Finance Institute and Agentis Capital partnered to deliver a compelling and free Modeling & Valuation Workshop. This one-hour session—held from 3–4 pm ET (12–1 pm PT)—offered a rare opportunity for students and finance professionals to learn directly from industry practitioners.

Leading the workshop were Luke Mazzei and Wesley Wu, both serving as Associates in Investment Banking at Agentis Capital. Their instruction offered participants a blend of theoretical insight and real-world application, particularly invaluable for those preparing for careers in investment banking.

Agentis Capital, a fast-growing independent financial advisor, is internationally recognized for its rigorous, impartial analysis and its reputation for exceptional execution in complex transactions—especially in infrastructure and mining sectors.

During the workshop, attendees were guided through fundamental concepts of financial modeling and valuation, including structured approaches to financial projections, valuation methodologies (such as discounted cash flow analysis), and practical scenarios derived from real-world transactions.

By the end of the session, participants walked away with:

  • A solid understanding of three-statement modeling, including how to project core financial statements and integrate them in Excel.

  • Techniques to build discounted cash flow valuations, emphasizing clarity, structure, and analytical rigor.

  • Insight into how investment bankers structure valuation pitches, offering a glimpse into the professional thought process behind M&A and financing deals.

  • Critical tips on best practices for model transparency and auditability, reflecting Agentis Capital’s emphasis on bespoke solutions and precision.

Moreover, the event cultivated a collaborative learning environment—attendees could ask questions, see live demonstrations, and gain practical guidance that sharpened both their technical skills and confidence.
